My work is influenced by the vibrant line and sumptuous color of Japanese woodblock prints and by the delicacy of
Persian miniature painting. In my drawings and paintings I apply traditional and contemporary media using unconventional techniques. The challenge is to create works that, while static on the wall
(or screen), gain movement in the viewer’s mind.
The work reflects my conviction that art is the exploration of that which exists in the breath between our words, the gaps between paragraphs, the margins around the text. There is so much to say and not enough words or images in all the world to get it right.
